Adam & Diana got married!!

My good friend Diana was married in Hutchinson on February 18th. I was SO excited to be a bridesmaid for her! Brad and I went to Wichita on Friday afternoon and dropped Zoe off with Meg & Bret. We then drove to Hutch for the rehearsal. Saturday was full of hair-do's, pictures, wedding, dinner, and dancing!! We had so much fun and I am very sad that I didn't take more pictures. Brad had our camera during the ceremony so we got a few throughout the day. We also got to catch up with a bunch of friends that we hadn't seen since our wedding!

 Mr. & Mrs. Henderson

 At the reception.

Reunited again! These girls are the best!

This was one of the funniest things I saw all day! They sang to Diana "You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling". Thing is no one knew the words! Therefore, the reason they are all looking at each other instead of at Diana!

This is more towards the end of the song, and they started getting into it! Her new hubby is the one on the far end - he's really singing to her! That's love!! :)

Congrats to Diana & Adam! I love you both and wish you nothing but the best!!

Week 17

Symptoms: Heartburn, still feeling sick in the late afternoon/evenings, back aches.

Sleep: Still sleeping good!

Movement: Pretty constant now, but really strong movement in the late afternoons and evenings. Very cool!!

Cravings: Honey Nut Cheerios

What I miss: Dr. Pepper! My doctor did tell me I could have 1 caffeine drink a day. I decided I was going to do my best in not drinking caffeine, especially since I haven't been able to eat the healthiest. And actually, many days it didn't even sound the best to me. I have used dr. pepper to help take my vitamins, so if I open a can at home I use it to take the pills then give it to Brad. Or, if we are at a restaurant and Brad is drinking some, I have had some of his. But, I still miss just having my own! So, yesterday while I was out running errands I had a Dr. Pepper with crushed ice from Sonic! I. WAS. IN. HEAVEN. The best!! Ok, you can stop laughing at me now!  I ate at a mexican restaurant this weekend with Brad's mom and Jen and a margarita did sound good, too! The Dr. Pepper will work for now. :)

Looking forward to: Find out the gender in 2 weeks! Shopping for furniture and other baby supplies!!

Maternity Clothes: My awesome sister-in-law let me go through her maternity clothes this weekend! I scored many pairs of pants and a few shirts. This will at least get me started! If it's not maternity it's at least stretchy skirts, etc. that I wear to work.

Week 16

The baby is the size of an avocado!

Symptoms: Backache, nausea, strong heartburn.

Sleep: Still sleeping good with the exception of getting up 2 or more times to visit the bathroom. :)

Movement: Definite movement this week! I visited the doctor Wednesday morning and while he was listening to the heartbeat and feeling for movement he mentioned that I probably wasn't able to feel anything yet. However, he did tell me the baby was VERY active that morning. Once I got home and was sitting still, I felt several flutters in a row and just new it had to be the baby. Ever since then I have felt movement each day.

Cravings: Salad and cucumbers. Weird, since 2 weeks ago I couldn't even look at lettuce, but at least it's healthy!

What I miss: Not much except being able to take vitamins without gagging! :(

Looking forward to: Our next sonogram in 2 weeks and finding out the gender!! Yay!!

Maternity Clothes: I did pick up a couple of new shirts. I realized Saturday (after I had tried on 4 different ones), that it was probably time to start wearing more maternity than my regular clothes. I believe Brad would agree. :)

Week 15

Symptoms: Nausea and backache.

Sleep: Still sleeping good!

Movement: Thinking back, I believe I felt a tiny flutter or two but didn't realize what it was at the time.

Cravings: Skittles

Maternity Clothes: I picked up a couple of pants at Old Navy, but they are still pretty big. That will change soon!

What I miss: Not much.

Looking forward to: This was the week before Diana's wedding, so I was very excited for that. I was hoping I would fit into my bridesmaid's dress, which I did!

First 3 months

Since I haven't been on the ball and gotten this done on a weekly basis, I will give a short overview of the first 3 months of pregnancy and then do my best with making it a weekly habit from here on out!  I haven't done very well with writing it all down either but at least I will always have the blog to read back through.

Pregnancy Stats: Weeks 1-15

First found out: The Friday after Thanksgiving, November 25th.

Symptoms: The fagtigue came first and then the nausea, becoming stronger each week. The fatigue started to fade around week 12. Little appetite, strong sense of smell, especially to foods.

Sleep: Not a problem; I was able to fall asleep any chance I got!

Cravings: None that I can remember.

Movement: None yet.

Weight Loss/Gain: Lost 6 pounds.

What I missed: Food, not being sick all of the time.

Looking forward to: I was always anxious for the sonograms!

Maternity Clothes: Not yet, but I lived in comfy pants as much as I could!

Being sick, the time seemed to sort of just tick by slowly the first few weeks. But as I look back now, they really did go fast. Just to think, I went through Christmas and New Year's and those both seem so long ago now.

First Pictures!

As I mentioned in the previous post, we have had several sonograms. We received pictures from each of them. I wanted to share this cute one with everyone because it turned out the best out of all of them. Can you believe our baby is only 12 weeks in this picture? It's amazing what technology allows us to see and do today. I wish we were able to get a new picture every week. I cannot wait until March to see how much the baby has grown since this one was taken.

Baby Z

At Christmas time we were able to share with our families that we are going to have a baby in August! We still wanted to wait until I got a little further along to announce it publicly... and that wait seemed to take forever! Finally, in January, I hit the 12 week mark, so we made the big announcement to extended family, friends, and co-workers. Yay!!

As thrilled as I am to be pregnant, it sure hasn't been easy! Since about the 5 week mark, I have been sick, very sick. This lasts from the time I wake up to the time I go to sleep at night, and even throughout the night.  I can't even look at a lot of foods and am only able to eat certain foods. Most of them not very healthy. I've done pretty good with eating fruits daily, but haven't done very well with the veggies. I'm trying! Because of this I do make sure I take all of my vitmains daily. They make me sick too, and are so hard to get down! One day something will sound ok, and the next day the same food will have me running away!  I couldn't even stand to look at Brad's birthday cupcake the other day. Sad day!! Everyone says by your 2nd trimester this should start to declince. I am just about ready to hit the 15 week mark, and I am still sick most of the day. My fingers are crossed it will happen soon!

Brad has done most of the grocery shopping for us. This is something new for him to do by himself and he's done pretty good with it. I will send him with a list and he sometimes calls me 2-3 times per visit, which is ok. At least this way he is able to pick out foods that he will eat. Which by the way means that he has to do all of the cooking, too. I haven't cooked a meal since before Christmas. I am actually ready to get back in the kitchen because I received several new kitchen gadgets for Christmas that are still sitting in their boxes!

I have already been to the doctor more times than I can count. We had a sonogram at week 6, 7, 8, 10, and 12. We were able to hear the heartbeat each time. It was amazing to watch the baby grow each week and how much more movement he/she showed from week to week. We have a VERY active baby! My next appointment with the doctor is Feb. 22nd. We go back in March for another sonogram and (fingers crossed) we will be able to find out the whether it's a boy or girl! Very excited for that!

We would like to thank all of our family and friends for all of the thoughts and prayers that have been sent our way. It has not been an easy road the past year but we are thrilled to be where we are now! I know God has it all under control and just wanted us to wait a little while longer before we have a little Brad running around! :)

Keep checking back for updates. I hope to use my blog as a pregnancy diary throughout the next few months. It will be so cool to be able to read back through this someday when this sickness is just a distant memory
