Fun Birthday!

Brad, Parker, and I spent the whole day on Saturday with the Zimmerman gang! We sure had lots of fun! We all met at Jack Stack BBQ for some yummy lunch to get our day started. Bev, Jen, and I were able to get some shopping in after lunch while Parker went home with Daddy to take a nap. Later that afternoon we all headed to the bowling alley for a game of bowling! That was so much fun and I hope we get to go again soon. We ended our day by going back to our house and enjoying some pizza, cake & ice cream! We celebrated my birthday, along with an early Mother's Day since we probably won't get to see Bev on Mother's Day in a couple of weeks.

Thanks so much everyone for helping me celebrate yesterday and for hanging out with us all day! We had lots of fun! Hope we can all be together again soon!

Parker hung out in his stroller and got a
front row seat for all of the bowling fun!

Here Grandma, "let me help you with your Mother's Day gift."

How many people can fit on one couch?!

Brad's parents brought me a birthday cake!
Thanks for thinking of me!

8 Months!

I have no idea how we got here, but Parker has hit the 8 month mark. Seriously, how is that possible?! I don't even know where to begin - he is doing so many things and keeping Brad and I on our toes, that's for sure. It's something new everyday. And yesterday was no exception.

I guess he wanted to start 8 months out with a bang. I have known for awhile that the days of him being in his bouncer are limited. As long as he's happy and content, I still put him in there every now and then, when I need to get something done. Yesterday morning I was in the bathroom getting ready and he was right outside the door in his bouncer, playing with his toys. A couple of times he sat up and decided to lean over and get whatever toy he throw onto the floor. I would sit him back in the bouncer the right wow. No big deal. Before I knew it though, he had leaned over to get his toy and flipped the whole bouncer over on top of him. He just laid there looking up at me with this big cheesy grin on his face. He was pretty proud of himself. No injuries took place, luckily. That little stinker!

Aside from being an ornery little stinker and showing his temper every once in awhile he still is the best little baby ever. Everything has been so easy with him. I still consider myself so lucky everyday!

Here are some things he is up to now...

*Eating solids everyday...  carrots, squash, sweet potatoes, green beans, applesauce, pears, and bananas are some of his favorites.

*Sitting up by himself now - he started doing this Easter weekend at my parents house. It's still a work in progress, with a few wobbles, but he's definitely getting the hang of it!

*Sat up like a big boy in the shopping cart at the grocery store with me this morning. This was a whole new experience for both of us. It made our shopping trip twice as long because he wanted to see and feel everything I put in the cart. When I would take it away, then he would scream, I'd have to find something to distract him with, then keep moving to the next aisle and the whole process would start over again. He did really well sitting in the cart and only fell over twice. :-) Of course, everyone else shopping always has to stop and talk to him. Another reason our shopping trips take forever!

*Still not crawling! He continues his rolling to get him from one place to the other.

*Will chew on anything he can get in his mouth.

*Loves going for walks in his stroller. We have been doing this a lot more with the nice weather.

*He is now sitting up in his bath tub so bath time is enjoyable for all of us again. He is pretty content playing in the water and with his toys while we wash him. Not as much splashing and trying to get out like before.

*Still a great sleeper!

*Trying to get some more teeth in - we've had a few fussy days and nights lately.

*I am amazed at how aware of his surroundings he is and how he just concentrates on things he hasn't seen before. It's the little things... for instance, yesterday he just starred as the garage door went down. I just love the look on his face when Brad walks in from work every night. He just lights up!

*20 pounds/Size 3 diapers/Size 9 month clothes

*Will not keep his socks on. He pulls them off every morning. I don't even bother with them anymore. :)

We love you more each day, Parker!

Parker's First Easter!

We decided to spend Easter Weekend in Osborne this year. We loaded up on Friday morning and headed to my parent's house. We had such a fun weekend - great weather, lots of yummy food, and lots of play time with Grandma & Grandpa and Aunt Megan! I didn't get around to taking many pictures but I was able to take some Easter morning with Parker's basket full of goodies.

Parker has some more teeth coming in, therefore he was in a very cranky mood. We actually all witnessed his first full meltdown on Sunday morning when something didn't go his way. He isn't in the best of moods in some of these pictures but we still had fun!

The Easter Bunny was good to the little man this year!

30 seconds before this picture he was in full meltdown mode. Head down, feet kicking, and screaming. We might have quite the little temper with this one! All because I wanted a picture of him with his Easter basket! :-)

Grandpa is trying to distract him!

All better because I can do what I want now!

See - as long as I get my way, I'm just fine!

If you're not going to take these new binkies out of the package, I'll just suck on them this way!

Our Family - Easter 2013

Easter Egg Hunt!

When we were in Osborne for Easter Weekend they were having their Easter Egg Hunt. It was supposed to be the weekend before but the snow storm pushed it back a weekend. I was excited to be able to take Parker, especially because I knew that it wouldn't have near as many people as one in the city would have! We loaded Parker up in his stroller and Mom, Megan, and I walked the two blocks to the city park. Love the life of a small town! It was fun to see all of the little kiddos - (and since it's such a small town, we saw lots of friends!)

Although Parker is still a little too young for the actual hunting part, he still loved his stroller ride, sitting in the grass and playing with the eggs. We walked around with him and found him a few eggs and then sat him in the grass and snapped some pictures!

 This is the life!

 Look what we found!!

 This basket is pretty cool!

I think I'll dump them out now!

How many are in here? Notice how I'm sitting all by myself now!!

Thanks for coming with us Grandma and Auntie Meg! It was a fun first Easter Egg Hunt!!

Just A Swingin'

These pictures are from a couple of weeks ago when we walked to our neighborhood park after dinner one evening. Parker is happy as long as he is moving, and that especially is true for swings. We had put him in the swings at the park a couple of times before but I never had my camera with me so this night I was finally able to get some pictures.

So Much Fun!
Yep, that's Daddy in the background. He and Zoe were taking a stroll - or maybe they were people watching.
