I have no idea how we got here, but Parker has hit the 8 month mark. Seriously, how is that possible?! I don't even know where to begin - he is doing so many things and keeping Brad and I on our toes, that's for sure. It's something new everyday. And yesterday was no exception.
I guess he wanted to start 8 months out with a bang. I have known for awhile that the days of him being in his bouncer are limited. As long as he's happy and content, I still put him in there every now and then, when I need to get something done. Yesterday morning I was in the bathroom getting ready and he was right outside the door in his bouncer, playing with his toys. A couple of times he sat up and decided to lean over and get whatever toy he throw onto the floor. I would sit him back in the bouncer the right wow. No big deal. Before I knew it though, he had leaned over to get his toy and flipped the whole bouncer over on top of him. He just laid there looking up at me with this big cheesy grin on his face. He was pretty proud of himself. No injuries took place, luckily. That little stinker!
Aside from being an ornery little stinker and showing his temper every once in awhile he still is the best little baby ever. Everything has been so easy with him. I still consider myself so lucky everyday!
Here are some things he is up to now...
*Eating solids everyday... carrots, squash, sweet potatoes, green beans, applesauce, pears, and bananas are some of his favorites.
*Sitting up by himself now - he started doing this Easter weekend at my parents house. It's still a work in progress, with a few wobbles, but he's definitely getting the hang of it!
*Sat up like a big boy in the shopping cart at the grocery store with me this morning. This was a whole new experience for both of us. It made our shopping trip twice as long because he wanted to see and feel everything I put in the cart. When I would take it away, then he would scream, I'd have to find something to distract him with, then keep moving to the next aisle and the whole process would start over again. He did really well sitting in the cart and only fell over twice. :-) Of course, everyone else shopping always has to stop and talk to him. Another reason our shopping trips take forever!
*Still not crawling! He continues his rolling to get him from one place to the other.
*Will chew on anything he can get in his mouth.
*Loves going for walks in his stroller. We have been doing this a lot more with the nice weather.
*He is now sitting up in his bath tub so bath time is enjoyable for all of us again. He is pretty content playing in the water and with his toys while we wash him. Not as much splashing and trying to get out like before.
*Still a great sleeper!
*Trying to get some more teeth in - we've had a few fussy days and nights lately.
*I am amazed at how aware of his surroundings he is and how he just concentrates on things he hasn't seen before. It's the little things... for instance, yesterday he just starred as the garage door went down. I just love the look on his face when Brad walks in from work every night. He just lights up!
*20 pounds/Size 3 diapers/Size 9 month clothes
*Will not keep his socks on. He pulls them off every morning. I don't even bother with them anymore. :)
We love you more each day, Parker!
