Flowers

My kiddos helped me celebrate my birthday a little early at school this week. Our parents and kids are so awesome at our school. They take the information from our sheet of favorites we fill out at the beginning of the year and then just go way overboard in spoiling us. I received probably 10 bags of M&M's, 8 cans of Diet Coke, and probably 8 gift cards to Panera. Along with these sweet treats, I also got some beautiful flowers that I wanted to share with you. They are so pretty and I wish there was some way I could keep them alive and colorful for much longer than I already know they are going to last.

P.S. If you have a sweet tooth, come on over and then after I load you up on sugar from M&M's we can head to Panera  - my treat! :)

Week 24

I was talking to Jen the other night on the phone and she asked how far along I was. For the first time I had to really stop and think about it! At first I said 23 weeks, but after some thought, realized it was already week 24! Woohooo!! The blog helps me stay on track!

Not much new to report this week (again) with the pregnancy. Food is still sounding really, really good! I sure am making up for the lack of food in the first trimester. Brad has had a few laughs, especially when I am eating a bowl of cereal at 9:30pm. I still have a growing, bouncy baby boy who is keeping me on my toes. He must not like it when I am not paying attention to him because he sure lets me know. :)

I washed some of the little mister's new clothes this week and hung them in the closet. It is so stinkin' cute to see them hanging in there! I took a picture to share. This isn't even half of them that I have either already received as a gift or bought myself. I just ran out of hangers. I know, I should have bought more in the first place. I went to get some but our little Target doesn't have them, so I have to make a trip up to Super Target soon. Once the dresser comes in I am sure there will be some rearranging. But for now they are too cute not to hang up.

Operation painting the nursery will kick off this weekend and then officially get underway next weekend.  This weekend, Brad and I (ok, so probably mostly him) will move all of the stuff that is still in there, downstairs to storage. After a trip (or two or three) to Home Depot, to get all of the painting supplies, he will cover the floor and then start prepping the room for painting. Next weekend, Meg and Bret are coming up and Bret has so kindly offered to help Brad paint! Triple yay!! This will be very interesting and I promise lots of pictures to come in the next few weeks!

Weeks 21-23

Well, we are already to Week 23 - which means I am behind on my blogging! We have been so busy lately! Lots to do with a baby coming in less than 4 months. :)  Here is a recap of the past couple of weeks.

Pregnancy Symptoms - Still feeling pretty good - a few blah days here and there. I still think I will keep the heartburn and backaches over the feeling sick all of the time. At least these two come and go and aren't as constant as the nausea. The backaches are becoming more of an every day thing though which means the little guy is getting bigger and bigger each day!

Doctor - I went to the doctor yesterday for my monthly check up. I swear it takes me longer to drive to the doctor's office and check in than it does to even see the doctor! Oh well, that means things are good! He listened to the hearbeat and was kind of shocked at how quick he was able to hear something - pretty much the second he put the monitor on, he could hear movement/heartbeat. Music to my ears!! He then measured my stomach... which he says is right at the size it needs to be. I've had several people tell me I look pretty small... but I am feeling bigger each day now. I go in next week for my glucose test. Since I already had one in the first trimester, I know what to expect... but still not looking forward to it.

Easter - We went to my parent's house for Easter. I haven't seen my Mom and Sister since January and Dad since December so I think they were in for a surprise! It was fun for them to see my growing belly! We had a great trip although it went by too quick. The 4 hour car ride both ways didn't agree with my back and I pretty much had a backache the whole trip and time we were home. I feel really bad for people who deal with back aches on a daily basis. Not fun!

Furniture - After 3 weekends in a row of furniture shopping we finally found a crib we both could agree on! There are so many choices and colors to choose from. In many ways they all look the same, but we finally found one we both really liked. We ordered the crib and matching dresser to go with it. The crib was in stock, but of course the dresser wasn't, so we have to wait 6-8 weeks for them to be delivered. This is ok because we have a lot to do in the nursery before we are even ready for furniture. Our next step is cleaning out the room and prepping for Brad to begin paining. He's thrilled! Our goal is to have it painted by the end of April. Then my mom is going to come and help me decorate. :)  We also picked out our car seat and stroller system. I am very excited about this one! We went back and forth between 3 stores looking at them, pushing them around, and carrying the car seat around. (Well that was mainly Brad, because those things are so dang heavy without a baby in them - can't imagine with a baby!)

A couple of weekends ago we bought our crib set. Not everything in the picture below is included in the set, but we will try to add some of the extra pieces later on ... the lamp, hamper, etc.

Names - We are still working on this one. We have talked about it many, many times, but we really need to sit down and just decide on something. I know one day something will come up that we both love and our decision will be made!

We only have 6 weeks left of school - hard to believe!!  Time sure is flying by and as I look at the calendar I see that our weekends are filling up one by one. I have my 10 year class reunion at the end of May so I am very excited about that. We have a lot to look forward to over the next few months!!

That's about all for now. I will try and post pictures of Brad's painting progress. :) I cannot stand the smell of paint so this should be interesting! See ya next time for week 24!
