Sunday Funday!

Just wanted to share some pictures of Parker outside yesterday afternoon. It was super windy here but the temperatures were in the 60's so we decided to go outside for awhile. He loved sitting in his wagon watching Brad pick up all of the leaves that had fallen off our trees from the crazy wind!

Side note: He LOVES his winter hat and gloves and screams every time I take them off!

15 Months!

Just a quick update on our 15 month old! He had his 15 month check up with the doctor this week. He passed all of her tests but not without screaming the whole time. This was the first doctor's visit where I think he recognized what was going to happen and became really nervous/scared right away. He didn't want the doctor touching him, wasn't interested in anything she gave him and was just down right mad the whole entire time. (Normally he is so curious and wants to help out.) Of course, we had to end the visit with THREE shots! Poor little fella... my heart just broke for him. At least it didn't last... as soon as the nurse walked out, he was good to go. I can't believe the next time we go for a check up he will be 18 months!

Height... 31 3/4 inches.... 70%
Weight.... 25 lbs. 4 oz.... 80%
Head... 18.5...55%

Parker is so full of energy each day and sure knows how to wear his Mommy and Daddy out! His all time favorite thing to do is to be down on the floor, crawling around, getting into everything BUT his toys! When he does actually want to play with his toys, some of his favorites are, rolling and throwing a ball back and forth, pushing his walker around, putting small objects in and dumping them out of something, and looking at books (makes this mommy proud!) We're still not walking yet but that sure doesn't slow this toddler down. He doesn't like to be held anymore, and would rather not be in his high chair or anything else that prevents him from moving on his own. We have had a few fights getting into the car seat, stroller, high chair, etc. Some days he doesn't like me much when we have errands to run!

He's a great eater as long as he is feeding himself. If you put a spoon full of food up to his mouth you better watch out because chances are it is going to end up in your lap. He's too big to be spoon fed anymore... it's got to be finger foods all the time!

He goes to bed around 8:30 pm and sleeps through the night until 8am the next morning. He takes a good 2 hour nap in the afternoon.

His favorite words are still "Mama" (usually when he wants something), "Dada" (the rest of the time), and "ZoZo". I swear this child talks non stop throughout the day and I would just love to get inside his little head to learn what he's saying. It doesn't matter to him that he's not saying words - if you're talking to him, he's going to answer back with is own language. "Huh" is one of his favorite things to say, too. He knows yes and no and will nod and shake his head if he agrees or disagrees with you.

He can take his own shoes, socks, and pants off. I will often times find him playing without his pants on. :-)

I could go on and on all day about the things Parker has learned in his short 15 months. He amazes me daily with the things he can do, say, and copy. He is definitely all boy and challenges me on a daily basis. I am not sure how I am going to be able to handle him the older he gets because I have already come close to about 15 heart attacks with this one... not even kidding! He has no fear, is curious about every single thing, and will not stop until he gets his way. But at the end of the day I wouldn't trade a single minute with him. Being his Mommy is still hands down my favorite thing in the entire world. Love you, Parker!

Graduation Picture in About 17 Years??!!

These pictures are just too funny not to share! One night while at my parent's house, Mom and I were making dinner. Parker was getting hungry but dinner was still a few minutes away so I tried to distract him by putting his pants on his head. Funniest. Thing. Ever. Mom and I were rolling with laughter! The pictures really don't show it, but he did think it was pretty funny, too!

Look, Mom, No Hands!

What are you laughing at?!

And, he's down!

Are you seriously still laughing at me?!

A Blast From the Past!

Since we were going to be at my parent's house through the weekend, my Dad suggested we go over to Hays to the Fort Hays football game on Saturday. I wasn't sure how Parker would do during the game but I was pretty excited to be able to go back to campus since neither Brad or I had really been there since graduation! We headed over on Saturday morning, ate some lunch and then drove to campus. On our way, we drove by the apartment where I lived my 2nd year of school. It looked exactly the same! Next, we spent some time walking through campus. Oh my gosh... that brought back some memories! It really doesn't seem like it should be that long since we have been in college, but it's already been 6 years for me and 7 for Brad. Crazy! It was almost kind of weird walking through some of the buildings thinking about how that was the place Brad and I first met. And now we were walking around with our 1 year old son!! We spent some time walking through the union to see all of the new renovations... like a brand new Starbucks for instance! Then we walked through the building where Brad took most of his classes. We even peeked into the computer lab where Brad and I had our very first class together. Little did we know at the time that we would be married today. He says he doesn't remember me, but I know he sat right behind me for a whole semester!

The weather turned out to be just about perfect so Mom and I decided to just push Parker in his stroller over to the football stadium while Dad and Brad drove the car around. During our walk, we went by the dorm where I lived my first year. It was so much fun seeing all of these places!

We made it to the football field right as the game was about to start. We were able to sit with the Musil Family. They lived in Osborne when I was growing up, and now Marshall plays for FHSU. He was on the OU football team before transferring to Fort Hays for his last year. It was so cool being able to watch him play. I cannot believe how nice the weather was! There was no wind at all and we barely even needed to wear our jackets. It was a great game and Parker did really well. He started getting a little antsy in the 4th quarter so we decided to head out with a few minutes left in the game.

Here are some pictures as we walked down memory lane!

Riding in the car...

Parker with the Tiger!

Of course we had to make a stop by the office of our good friend, Mr. Engel.
We went to school with him and now he is a professor at FHSU!

Game time! Cheering with Grandpa.

Snack time!

GO TIGERS!

Trick or Treat!

It's hard to believe that Parker's 2nd Halloween has already come and gone! I thought it would be fun to trick or treat with my parents so on the morning of Halloween, Brad, Parker, and I loaded up in the car and headed to Osborne. Since Halloween was on Thursday, we made a whole weekend out of it and were able to stay for a few days.

Mom, Brad, Parker, and I trick or treated around my parent's neighborhood for awhile that evening. We pushed Parker in his stroller, and he held on to his little bucket so proudly! Every time we would put candy in, he would just light up and have to check it out. Next, we visited my Grandpa and helped him pass out candy to the kiddos that visited his house. After that we decided to go back to my parent's house and help my Dad pass out candy there. We were having so much fun trick or treating that I forgot to take some pictures, but here are some from before and after our fun!

Thanks Grandma & Grandpa for helping us celebrate Halloween this year!
We had lots of fun with you!

Grandma and her little pirate!

Such a big boy!

He was checking out the dogs who were watching him out the window!

And a picture from the next morning... all smiles again!

Halloween Story Time

One of our weekly outings is story time at Pottery Barn. Parker is really starting to enjoy the stories, the music and especially watching the other kiddos. The week of Halloween, story time was all Halloween themed so I put Parker in his pirate costume and we headed out for some fun! We listened to some stories, and then paraded around the store and collected some candy. Parker thought it was pretty cool that he got his very own sack full of treats!

Happy Birthday, Dad!

A couple of weeks ago when we were in Osborne we got to help my Dad celebrate his birthday. After a yummy dinner, we celebrated with some cake & ice cream and presents! Parker is starting to get this birthday thing down. He sure had fun helping Grandpa celebrate. :-)

 Happy Birthday, Dad!
We had lots of fun celebrating with you!

Parker didn't get the memo to smile. :-)

Time for presents!
