A Blast From the Past!

Since we were going to be at my parent's house through the weekend, my Dad suggested we go over to Hays to the Fort Hays football game on Saturday. I wasn't sure how Parker would do during the game but I was pretty excited to be able to go back to campus since neither Brad or I had really been there since graduation! We headed over on Saturday morning, ate some lunch and then drove to campus. On our way, we drove by the apartment where I lived my 2nd year of school. It looked exactly the same! Next, we spent some time walking through campus. Oh my gosh... that brought back some memories! It really doesn't seem like it should be that long since we have been in college, but it's already been 6 years for me and 7 for Brad. Crazy! It was almost kind of weird walking through some of the buildings thinking about how that was the place Brad and I first met. And now we were walking around with our 1 year old son!! We spent some time walking through the union to see all of the new renovations... like a brand new Starbucks for instance! Then we walked through the building where Brad took most of his classes. We even peeked into the computer lab where Brad and I had our very first class together. Little did we know at the time that we would be married today. He says he doesn't remember me, but I know he sat right behind me for a whole semester!

The weather turned out to be just about perfect so Mom and I decided to just push Parker in his stroller over to the football stadium while Dad and Brad drove the car around. During our walk, we went by the dorm where I lived my first year. It was so much fun seeing all of these places!

We made it to the football field right as the game was about to start. We were able to sit with the Musil Family. They lived in Osborne when I was growing up, and now Marshall plays for FHSU. He was on the OU football team before transferring to Fort Hays for his last year. It was so cool being able to watch him play. I cannot believe how nice the weather was! There was no wind at all and we barely even needed to wear our jackets. It was a great game and Parker did really well. He started getting a little antsy in the 4th quarter so we decided to head out with a few minutes left in the game.

Here are some pictures as we walked down memory lane!

Riding in the car...

Parker with the Tiger!

Of course we had to make a stop by the office of our good friend, Mr. Engel.
We went to school with him and now he is a professor at FHSU!

Game time! Cheering with Grandpa.

Snack time!

GO TIGERS!
