Fun Day!

Parker got to go to his cousin Jack's birthday party last weekend! The birthday boy celebrated turning 4 with lots of family and friends, food, and fun games! Parker enjoyed the excitement of watching all of the bigger kiddos run around, watching the balloons, and even playing with some of Jack's new toys! He had a good time playing with Grandma and Grandpa Zimmerman while they were in town, too! After the party, Brad, Parker, and I went to eat at Red Robin with Grandma, Aunt Jen, and Jack. Parker must have had too much fun at the birthday party because he wasn't too big of a fan of all of the people and excitement that Red Robin had to offer. Hmm... we'll have to work on that!

The Boys! Birthday Boy Jack, Uncle Kevin, Parker, Drew, Brad, and Uncle Brian! What a crew!

Playing with Grandma!

Wow, these new birthday toys are fun! Thanks for letting me play, Jack!

We got to meet Drew and Jack's newest baby cousin, Brody! So tiny and sweet! Boy, Aunt Jen sure has some pretty cute nephews! :)

Jen's Mom sure could keep Parker entertained! He was loving this box!

Parker's First Valentine's Day!

What's all this mushy valentine's day stuff about anyway?!

My two favorite boys! :-)

We had a pretty low-key Valentine's Day - that's alright by me
because I got to spend it with TWO valentine's this year. :)

6 Month Stats

Parker was 6 months old on February 5th. Half a year already! We had his 6 month check up last week and he checked out great! He also did a lot better with the shots this month - Thanks Baby Tylenol! :) Here are the stats...

Height: 27 1/4 inches ......... 75th Percentile

Weight: 18 pounds 10 ounces........ 75th Percentile (up from 50th%)

Head Circumference: 17 1/4 inches........ 75th Percentile

Little man is doing SO many new things but the big news of the month is he is getting his first TOOTH! Yay! We think it probably broke through on his 6 month birthday because we saw it the day after. It is located on the bottom center. So far I have not seen any increased fussiness in him due to the tooth. Here are some other things he has been up to....

*No indication of crawling just yet, but he will roll from one side of the room to the other when he wants something. His doctor said he might not crawl completely since he has taught himself how to get around by rolling. We'll see!

*Eating Oatmeal 1-2 times per day. Just this past weekend we introduced baby food to him, starting with Squash. The first time he wasn't so sure, but he really seemed to like it the next time we tried. Is he going to be an easier eater, too?!

*He wants to feed himself - he will pull the spoon out of your hand and put it in his mouth. He also does this with his bottle or a sippy cup of water  - grabs on to it and puts it into his mouth. Hasn't quite figured out how to hold it upright to get the milk or water, though. :)

*Still taking 5 bottles a day - anywhere between 4-8 ounces since we have started on food.

*Sleeping 12 hours at night. Not every night, but pretty close to it most every night. Some nights he'll wake 3-4 times, but other nights, he doesn't wake up at all! I'll take it! He puts himself to sleep in his bed. Still taking a morning and afternoon nap with a cat nap mixed in here and there.

*Working on sitting up. If he's laying down, he will do little baby crunches, trying to get himself upright. If he is sitting on your lap, he will sit up by himself for a couple of seconds. Not much longer now!

*Pulls his socks off every time you put them on his feet! Will not keep shoes on either. He either will pull them off, or knock them off by kicking his feet. Loves grabbing on to his toes (barefoot, of course) and can almost get them in his mouth.

*Continues to be very chatty. Will babble, squeal, "talk", during a lot of the time that he's awake.

*When he wakes up in the mornings, he just plays in his crib until I go get him. Never fussy, or angry - always has a smile in his face when I go in his room!

*I know I say this every month, but he never cries, ever! Only gets fussy when he's hungry, but that problem is quickly solved!

Happy 1/2 Birthday Parker! We love you SO much!
